I have been experimenting with several installations of WDSc AE v7.0 because my primary aim was to get a version of WDSc that would be at a version of Eclipse that would support my other plugins which have been at 3.2.1 or higher for a while.

I initially installed WDSc AE 7.0 taking the option to use the version of Eclipse it shipped with rather than taking the option to "extend" an existing Eclipse installation. The installer proceeded to the next page where I had the opportunity to de-select any options I didn't want to install but most of those options were checked. After installing V7.0 AE and playing around, I un-installed it, installed a clean copy of Eclipse and proceeded to reinstall WDSc 7 AE again. This time, however, when I chose to "extend" this fresh copy of Eclipse, many of the optional components were grayed out and unavailable to install. When I clicked on one of them, there was a message telling me that "This feature is not supported with the current JRE used in the existing eclipse." The JRE installed is 1.5.0_10 but when I changed to a different JRE (1.4.2_10), it wouldn't allow me to install at all, saying the at least 1.5 or higher was required.

So the question is: WHAT version of JRE are the other components relying on and how do I tell the installer that I want it to use that version for my eclipse installation? Does it read a configuration file in eclipse or does it scan the available JRE's and choose the most recent one? I quickly scanned the readme and the installation manual but found nothing that denoted the requirement.

Thanks,

Pete Helgren
