Well I don't mind keeping the green screens as it is, but I do want to see the 100 % functionality of green screen in WDSc if possible in near future. I attended recent common in Miami Beach and explained the nice advanced features of WDSc to my team members, very few of them are thrilled. Almost half of them asked can we use WDSc for everything?

For a bit of background, I heard the same thing when people had to move from 3277 terminals to 5251 terminals. Green screen terminals. Non-programmable terminals. Heard it again when PC Support 'emulated' the 5251 display station. The emulation was never quite as good as the real thing. The darned default keyboard layout was never right. Where the heck is that Enter key? Speaking of keys, the PC keyboards all stink. Every version of the emulator had a different crop of bugs, took up more room on the PC and never really did much more than the plain old keyboard and display on the 5251. Even now, a decade later, there are very, very few end users who use a fraction of the power of Client Access' terminal emulator.

This is your chance to influence the direction of WDSC. If you can describe precisely what you find missing, you may find that it materialises in a future release (or more likely, that you can perform that function in a 'WDSC' way rather than an SEU way.) Likewise, which thing (of 'can we use WDSC for everything') do your team members want to do, but can't?

We're trying to put together a Wiki so that people transitioning from SEU/PDM can look stuff like this up. This is a golden opportunity! http://wiki.midrange.com/index.php/Category:WDSC
