Just to clarify this information a bit:
From what we know now, it looks like the screen designer would be a
technology preview , also the current outlook is, that the screen designer would only be available in the Advanced version of WDSC. Just keep in mind this is preliminary information and can change at any time. Without actually saying WHEN it's to be released, it was implied that it could be ready for WDSCi version 7, or possibly that it could be part of a version 7 fixpack.... Just a guess, version 7 should be released in mid 2007... Note that this is NOT a complete replacement of CODE Designer, since the new plugin only handles DSPF objects (no PRTF support), but for me, there would be no need to install CODE for WDSCi. . . . . . . . . .
In the near future, IBM will have a Screen Designer plugin for WDSCi, allowing us to eliminate the CODE tools.
Eric, Do you have something firm that the Screen Designer plugin is slated for the near future? I've heard IBM has it high on their list of functional requirements, but I had the impression it might still be a while. It would be great if I've gotten the wrong impression.
