Right, sorry I didn't read that more carefully Douglas. As far as I know, the monitors view is currently the only way to see a variable's value all the time. I think the variables view only shows variables in the current scope (so if you are in a subprocedure, global variables don't show up). There was an enhancement request made about this problem a couple of weeks ago IIRC. If the variable happens to be used in a line of code that is shown on the screen, sometimes hovering over that variable will cause the value to be displayed as a Windows tooltip - I still haven't completely figured out why this only seems to work intermittently for me.
