Joe,

I create new filter pools which behave like "windows folders".

For instance, I have one pool called "source", under which I have three
filters created over the source files for our three migration
environments.

I have another pool called "data" which contains my filters over the
data libraries in those environments.

I have a third pool called "programs" which contains filters... well,
you get the picture.

The only stuff left in the default pool that comes with the connection
is the library list and user libraries.

Greg

|Maybe I just don't know enough about pools... as far as I've been able
to
|tell, I get one filter pool per connection, as well as one that is
common
|across all connections. I use filters to subset source for different
|applications and projects (using libraries and member name prefixes),
and I
|can easily have dozens of filters per connection.
|
|And the default is that when you open the iSeries Objects branch of the
RSE
|tree, you see ALL the filters regardless of pool. In fact, until today
I
|didn't even know about the "Show Filter Pools" command in the RSE
dropdown
|menu--thanks for showing me something new, Greg!
|
|Even so, I think I'd still like to be able to make my own folders (when
you
|show Filter Pools, it basically acts as an additional top level on
EVERY
|branch of the RSE tree, which can be a little annoying).
