I just removed the info under the config folder and then restarted and my colors were back. One thing to remember that is if you do not use the defualt workspace, when you restart you will have to browse to your original workspace to get your settings and filters back, otherwise you will have to reset everything back up.
It seems like this condition happens during installs of plugins because on other extension we have installed the same thing has happens so we have to removed the contents under the config folder and restart.
