is there any way to define templates for constructs like for 
or dow loops in the lpex editor like the templates in the 
java editor? or is there something similar?


"Snippets."  But don't try it because they're broken.  It will hose your
source.

It's a known problem since March, there's supposed to be a fix Real Soon
Now.  The IBMer working on it sent me an lpex.jar last March, but said "It
is not 100% tested yet, so please keep the original backed up!"

I didn't feel lucky, so I'm just waiting for the actual fix to hit the
field.
