In the vi profile you cannot redefine key actions from the preferences. Due to vi's nature, it uses a special key handler. Enter

  ?vi

on any LPEX command line for additional information.

[n]>> and [n]<< to indent and unindent in vi seem to work for me.

I'll take a look at the 'enter' key. It's not supposed to go back to command mode? I confess I'm not a vi expert (quite the opposite :-)).

Speaking of automatic indent ... does anyone else make use of the vi editor profile. I like to use it once in a while when I'm angry with my mouse (and arrow keys), but auto indent seems to be broken. Then again, it also goes back to command mode when one hits 'enter' to end a line. Has anyone found a way to get around this? Am I the only one crazy enough to play with editor profiles?
