You still have to let RWD/RAD (Eclipse) know about this extension - Window > Preferences > Workbench > File Associations:
1.- add a *.mac file type if there isn't one, then
2.- add an associated editor for it (e.g., the Remote Systems LPEX Editor). Note that for *.html files, RWD/RAD has an HTML Source Page Editor and a Page Designer (which is the default).

In WDSc version 5.1.2 whenever I opened any file from
IFS with extension TXT, RPG, MAC (ie. Net.data macro MyBytes.mac), the
Remote Systems LPEX editor was invoked and I saw tokenized text for the
appropriate language. When I right click to open the same *.mac file in
Rational V6, I get a different set of choices for various types of
extension. For RPG and TXT, it is still Remote Systems LPEX Editor but
for the MAC extension, I do not have that choice. Instead, I see a simplified editor window without line numbers and
without tokenizing or colors. I tried to use
Window->Preferences->Editors->LPEX->Parsers to add mac and make it like
html but that did not work. Any suggestions how to offer the LPEX choice
with tokenizing for this particular style of source code object?
