Hi Rick, You should be able to debug a program for the first time from the debug perspective. I tried in my WDSC 6.0, and the launch configuration dialog did come up prompting me for the program name, startup command, etc. We need to look more into it to see why the debug launch configuration dialog did not show up in your case. >From the debug perspective, you could also click on the drop down beside the bug button and choose Debug... The launch configuration dialog will show up, and you could choose one of the launch configuration type and create a new debug configuration for debugging your application. In 6.0, if you want to choose "Debug as interactive", you still need to associate 5250 session with your RSE connection. But the problem you encountered was not caused by not having an RSE 5250 session. It will really be a pain if I have to go to the object to start debug for the first time. You only need to start debug server once in the system (until IPL or someone else end the debug server.) To start it, you could either right click on one of the subsystem in the RSE and choose Remote Server -> Debug -> Start or use "STRDBGSVR" command in 5250.
