One problem I can see is, IBM sells WDSC as a separate product. It is "free" only if you get Websphere Development Studio 5722-WDS on an iSeries. So it would go against good business practices to simply hand out free copies, eh?

OTOH, there is a download site for partners - is there one for the regular customers? It'd be helpful to get even a back-level release, say 5.0, even.

Shoot, ask 'em to just give you a bunch of the WDSCi DVD's.

They'd be worthless to anyone with the iSeries LICPGM installed. Why do we have to jump through hoops to get a hold of WDSCi?
