Can you use the product with your iSeries if the iSeries doesn't have the
right license?



Besides, is this a case where IBM might be better off to let the licensing
issue slide a bit, at least until there is better market saturation for 
it?

One problem I can see is, IBM sells WDSC as a separate product. It is

"free" only if you get Websphere Development Studio 5722-WDS on an 
iSeries.

So it would go against good business practices to simply hand out free

copies, eh?

 

OTOH, there is a download site for partners - is there one for the regular

customers? It'd be helpful to get even a back-level release, say 5.0, 
even.
