Terri, if your pc only meets the minimum requirements, I'd suggest you try CODE first. It's a very good alternative to SEU, and runs on a much lower spec machine. You will need the CD's/DVD, though, there is no download available that I know of. And you should definitely go to 5.1.2.4, it's quicker than the previous versions. Also, you can decide to only install CODE and VisualAgeRPG, which was not the case in previous releases. I knew we had WebSphere development studio client for iSeries, V4.0.0, but I had not really gone into it much. When I tried following along with the magazine article, some of the things didn't match up quite right, so I started doing some poking around. I found a web site with downloads for V5.0 advanced edition & standard edition and version 5.1 advanced edition & standard edition. I checked out the specs on my PC. I have a P4, 400 Mhz, 572 MB of memory and 40GB of hard drive. I have Windows 200 Pro, SP4 & Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. Our iSeries is at 5.2. My questions are: Can I download the updates or do I need to find the CD's? Since I meet the minimums but not the suggested, do I get 5.0 or 5.1? Is the update only for my PC or is there something that needs to happen on the iSeries also? I am not looking at doing any web work at this point. I would just like to move away from SEU. It sounds like RSE is the best thing since sliced bread, and I would like to try it out. Thanks! <===================================================> Terri Harteau Programmer/Analyst Felker Brothers Corporation **************** Paperwork is like kudzu. Both need to be pruned regularly.
