Jim, If you verify your source while connected the information for externally described database, printer and display files get cached locally, so you can then verify any source changes made while disconnected. While disconnected you can also select a file in an F spec in the editor, right click and select "Show Fields" which will show field information in the table view, or refresh the outline view to get record and field information for a file. If any of the tools find they need something that is not in the cache then they will try to connect to the remote system. You can stop this be putting the RSE (iSeries projects use RSE connections) in offline mode via the caching preferences page. If you know you are going to be referencing a database / printer / display file while disconnected you can also right click on the object in the RSE and select "Cache File Description" to add the information for that object to the cache. >>I question the need to have a command or program HAVE to run.
