Not that it isn't a solvable problem, but it could just be logistics. The Passport program is already a defined program that exists and has the means to deliver downloads of software to users that have purchased it. Let's assume that they were to make WDSC downloadable for everyone that ordered it. They would then need to have some system in place where you registered, someone verified who you were and that you did in fact have a license, and then of course the product itself would have to be available for download. This has always been an area where IBM's size seems to work against them. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and they do not have the systems in place to make this happen. In theory that is what things like the Passport Advantage are supposed to be solving. Maybe someday they will have us all moved on to a system that can handle this properly. There is a small subset of users here who have been using 5.1 for weeks, while the rest of us have to wait until late October before we can even place an order. Why? We've paid our fees, just like those in the Passport program.
