Fergal,

Yes you have it correct. WDSC Advanced is just WSAD + the iSeries stuff.
There is also a little bit extra iSeries stuff, mostly in the area of
WebFacing.

The issue is really cost. As you indicate WDSC Advanced is an unlimited
user license. So if its cost would be less expensive than the number of
WSAD licenses you have to purchase, than that would definitely be the way
to go.

If buying WSAD is less expensive, then you should also know that if you
already have WSAD installed, you can still install WDSC Standard. It will
recognize that WSAD is installed and just let you add the iSeries
extensions to it.

So, you win no matter which way you go.

Mark

Subject: [WDSCI-L] WDSC Advanced Question ?

 Hi,
As we have an iSeries shop, we have WDS and WDSc Standard edition.
We also have a number of licences for WSAD and will need to purchase some
additional licences for WSAD over the coming months.

I read recently that if we bought a licence for WDSc Advanced edition,
that
  a) it includes all the tools that are in WSAD and WDSc standard edition
and
  b) that we would have unlimited user licences

Can anyone confirm that this is the case. In other words can everything
that the java developers do in WSAD be done in WDSc Advanced edition and
should we consider buying a licence for WDSc Advanced instead of buying
additional licences for WSAD ?

Thanks, Fergal
