I have seen the pop-up's you mentioned but what I really wanted was help
with the arguments. Guess I'm out of luck there. Your reference to using
CTL-space sounds good except it doesn't appear to work for free form. I'll
have to try it the next time I'm in a program using columns though. It
sounds like a real time saver.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Re: V5 Auto Complete for RPG?

<I have seen references on this list to an auto complete feature of the new
LPEX editor but I can't seem to find anything about it in the RPG parser
options or in the help. Is this available for RPG BIF's?

Rick>

If you type % in factor 2 you should see two auto complete windows pop up
(if not, press CTL-space), one that shows a scrollable lists of the bif's
that match what you've typed so far (for example, if you typed %b, you'll
see %BITAND, %BITOR, %BITXOR, %BITNOT) and another one that shows help text
for the selected bif. You can select a bif from the list, but there isn't
any assistance with the arguments.

Once the program information has been cached (press the refresh button from
the outline view), there is also auto complete functionality for things like
file and format names. For example, you can type READ in the op code
column, tab to the factor 2 column and press CTL-space to bring up a window
listing the files and formats that have been declared in your program.
