Free-form rpg template support is on the list (the same kind of thing as java provides) but I'm not sure about code formatters. ____________________________________ David McKnight Phone: 905-413-3902 , T/L: 969-3902 Internet: dmcknigh@xxxxxxxxxx Mail: D1/643/8200/TOR ____________________________________ |---------+------------------------------> | | Merikan Peter | | | <peter.merikan@xxxx| | | ofinans.se> | | | Sent by: | | | wdsci-l-bounces@xxx| | | range.com | | | | | | | | | 05/06/2003 01:46 PM| | | Please respond to | | | Websphere | | | Development Studio | | | Client for iSeries | | | | |---------+------------------------------> >------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: "'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries'" <wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> | | cc: | | Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] Re: V5 Auto Complete for RPG? | | | | | >------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Hi David That sounds great... :-) What about templates and code formatters. Is that also on the list? /Peter -----Original Message----- From: David McKnight [mailto:dmcknigh@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: den 5 juni 2003 19:12 To: Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Cc: 'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries'; wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] Re: V5 Auto Complete for RPG? Hi Rick, Work is being done at this very moment to provide enhancements to the rpg content assist feature. One piece of this work is to provide help for arguments of BIFs as well as keywords. ____________________________________ David McKnight Phone: 905-413-3902 , T/L: 969-3902 Internet: dmcknigh@xxxxxxxxxx Mail: D1/643/8200/TOR ____________________________________ |---------+--------------------------------> | | "Chevalier, Rick" | | | <Rick.Chevalier@xxxxx| | | credit.com> | | | Sent by: | | | wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxx| | | nge.com | | | | | | | | | 05/06/2003 01:03 PM | | | Please respond to | | | Websphere Development| | | Studio Client for | | | iSeries | | | | |---------+--------------------------------> > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: "'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries'" <wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> | | cc: | | Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] Re: V5 Auto Complete for RPG? | | | | | > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| I have seen the pop-up's you mentioned but what I really wanted was help with the arguments. Guess I'm out of luck there. Your reference to using CTL-space sounds good except it doesn't appear to work for free form. I'll have to try it the next time I'm in a program using columns though. It sounds like a real time saver. Is this available for RPG BIF's? Rick> If you type % in factor 2 you should see two auto complete windows pop up (if not, press CTL-space), one that shows a scrollable lists of the bif's that match what you've typed so far (for example, if you typed %b, you'll see %BITAND, %BITOR, %BITXOR, %BITNOT) and another one that shows help text for the selected bif. You can select a bif from the list, but there isn't any assistance with the arguments. Once the program information has been cached (press the refresh button from the outline view), there is also auto complete functionality for things like file and format names. For example, you can type READ in the op code column, tab to the factor 2 column and press CTL-space to bring up a window listing the files and formats that have been declared in your program.
