Some good advice there from Jeff! One more thing to watch out for is that using SDA wipes out all mod marks and comments, so be careful! Jack is right that System21 Explorer does have a facility called Designer, and it is useful for changing the screen layout. However, I have found two drawbacks with it - the first is that it gets very tricky is a single screen format is used in different ways (e.g. entry or amendment, sometimes update or enquiry, or just different behaviour according the setup) because your changes apply regardless. So you might want to hide a field in maintenance but you will also hide it in entry, which can be a big problem! - implementation of Explorer screens across a large organization can be a logistical nightmare I believe that this is much improved with Aurora's user interface (a.k.a enCompass) but there aren't many people using that just yet.
