Alan,
Use 26/INU. You will get an option to either produce a report of items for
deletion, or you can choose to delete the items and produce a report of the
items deleted.
You will enter an effectivity end date for the deletion. The documentation
states that all items flagged for deletion with an effectivity end date on
or before the entered date are deleted (or listed on the report if you take
the first option). However I recall that items with activity within a
specified amount of time didn't delete, even though the end date was on or
before the entered date.We haven't looked at this in a while, so I don't
remember the specifics of the time since activity occurred, but I think it
was 2 years. I don't know if this period of time for activity is something
that you can change such as a description file, parameter or company
profile.

Is there a way (that is just as simple) to delete items?

Try using option 31/ARU - Delete redundant Data.

A point to consider is once you have deleted the customer from the System
the Account Code can be used again!
