To do this, you need to change the jbasmg.ini file on each users PC.

In this file is an entry which says Program=CWSINITIAL, you need to change
this to Program=*NONE and then change the initial program on the AS400 user
profile to IPGAMP4/CWSINITIAL.

The JBA Explorer is a screen scraper and what it does when it sees the AS400
signon screen is to display the explorer login prompt, this accepts the
users ID and password which is written into the relevant fields on the AS400
signon screen. In addition, what it does is to place the Program= entry
into the Program/procedure field on the AS/400 signon screen, but this field
can not be used if you sepcify LMTCPB(*YES) on the profile.

In summary:

Change the AS400 user profile to LMTCPB(*YES) INLPGM(IPGAMP4/CWSINITIAL)

Change the jbasmg.ini fiel to read Program=*NONE

The only problem then, is that the user can not sigon to a green and black
session!!

You may also want to add CloseActivitySession=0 to the jbasmg.ini file as
this will stop the explorer users from closing a window by clicking on the x
in the top right of the window.

I need the user to be able to log onto green on black for connectivity to
out parent company and explorer when using JBA but to limit his
capabilities.

Steve,

What is it you are actually trying to achieve.

Is it to stop the user from having more than one session open at any one
time?

If so this would be controlled by limit device session's within the users
profile.

Jon

Hi

I'm using JBA 3.5.2 IBM 4.5

With Explorer I have set up a user with Limit capabilities set to *yes
with
an initial menu set up as well. If I now try to use Explorer by setting
the
initial program in the jbasmg.ini file as *none the user can only login
via
explorer to the initial menu, if I set the initial menu to aminitial or
cwsinitial explorer does not recognize the program.

Any ideas?

Regards

Steve Dodkins
