What about creating another profile for this person and limiting them both to be able to sign on only once. Use 1 profile to sign on 1 system and use the other profile to sign onto the other. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Dodkins [mailto:Steve.Dodkins@ebm-ziehl.co.uk] Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2002 3:13 AM To: 'jbausers-l@midrange.com' Subject: RE: [SYS21] Explorer This works for the Explorer but does not work if the user also requires green on black screens as well. -----Original Message----- From: Fred Mitchell [mailto:lists@ccl400.com] Sent: 16 October 2002 18:30 To: jbausers-l@midrange.com Subject: RE: [SYS21] Explorer To do this, you need to change the jbasmg.ini file on each users PC. In this file is an entry which says Program=CWSINITIAL, you need to change this to Program=*NONE and then change the initial program on the AS400 user profile to IPGAMP4/CWSINITIAL. The JBA Explorer is a screen scraper and what it does when it sees the AS400 signon screen is to display the explorer login prompt, this accepts the users ID and password which is written into the relevant fields on the AS400 signon screen. In addition, what it does is to place the Program= entry into the Program/procedure field on the AS/400 signon screen, but this field can not be used if you sepcify LMTCPB(*YES) on the profile. In summary: Change the AS400 user profile to LMTCPB(*YES) INLPGM(IPGAMP4/CWSINITIAL) Change the jbasmg.ini fiel to read Program=*NONE The only problem then, is that the user can not sigon to a green and black session!! You may also want to add CloseActivitySession=0 to the jbasmg.ini file as this will stop the explorer users from closing a window by clicking on the x in the top right of the window. -- Fred Mitchell Concise Consulting Ltd Newcastle upon Tyne, England mailto:fred@ccl400.com http://www.ccl400.com -----Original Message----- From: jbausers-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:jbausers-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Steve Dodkins Sent: 16 October 2002 17:22 To: 'jbausers-l@midrange.com' Subject: RE: [SYS21] Explorer I need the user to be able to log onto green on black for connectivity to out parent company and explorer when using JBA but to limit his capabilities. -----Original Message----- From: JonWadey@mst-ltd.co.uk [mailto:JonWadey@mst-ltd.co.uk] Sent: 16 October 2002 16:40 To: jbausers-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: [SYS21] Explorer This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Steve, What is it you are actually trying to achieve. Is it to stop the user from having more than one session open at any one time? If so this would be controlled by limit device session's within the users profile. regards Jon Steve Dodkins <Steve.Dodkins@ebm-ziehl.co.uk> Sent by: jbausers-l-admin@midrange.com 16/10/2002 16:33 Please respond to jbausers-l To: "'Jbausers-L (E-mail)" <jbausers-l@midrange.com> cc: Subject: [SYS21] Explorer Hi I'm using JBA 3.5.2 IBM 4.5 With Explorer I have set up a user with Limit capabilities set to *yes with an initial menu set up as well. If I now try to use Explorer by setting the initial program in the jbasmg.ini file as *none the user can only login via explorer to the initial menu, if I set the initial menu to aminitial or cwsinitial explorer does not recognize the program. Any ideas?
