We are not running DRP here so I cannot test this out but I recall the independent demand flag being active. A setting of scheduled orders and demand orders should exclude DRP demand. I think the flag is at least partially active. We used it once to keep a phantom item that was a sales kit from seeing sales demand by having it look only at customer schedules knowing that the part would never have any customer schedules.
