I personally had the opposite experience. Yes, I do believe he expects your AS/400 to be communicating with your mail server, which another more expense package expected when we tried it. I really don't think the guy is sitting there counting his money. Lets face it the product is basically shareware which you can use on reports up to 30 pages without paying a dime. If you can get SMTP configured on your 400 you can be using this product in 1 hour. At least that has been our experience at several client sites. Stone (The author)... I'm sure it is a fine product if you're technically proficient in configuring your AS/400 to talk to your mail server... For me it was not money well spent... He is too busy counting his money to provide any meaningful assistance in getting his product to work, at least that was the feeling I got when I asked for assistance... I'll never buy anything else from BVSTOOLS.COM... That's MHO... It's ease of use, the excellent customer support and cost have always carried a great deal of weight when evaluating these type products. The product has links to faxing packages. I recently began using and recommending a shareware product called SPL2EMAIL which provides for the emailing of AS/400 reports.
