Boy, is THIS ever bringing on flashbacks ... It's been a while, but I still
remember being a techie. I struggled mightily with exactly this type of a
requirement, and was unable to figure it out. The official answer I got was
that it's not possible to update one file based on data in a second file in
one AS/400 SQL statement.

What we had to do was to merge the two files together into an output file
(using query or SQL) ... then run the SQL statement over the one file ...
then copy it back over the top of the file that was being updated, using
*MAP and *DROP options in the copy statement (if my memory serves me
correctly).

We have 2 files, a customer details file (fields ending in 05) and a
customer attributes files (fields ending in 20). (To readers using JBA,
I'm using SLP05 and OEP20E.)
The join between the customers will be fields called CONO05/20, CUSN05/20
and DSEQ05/20
I would like an SQL statement to the effect of
UPDATE OEP20E SET OORD20=100 BORD20=0
WHERE CGP105 =008
CONO05=CONO20
CUSN05=CUSN20
DSEQ05=DSEQ20

OK, what I REALLY need is an SQL course, but can someone help me?
