You can't determine the value, with out capturing some data elsewhere. You
just have to adjust your account to an Inventory Change account and call it
a day. It's almost impossible to track.

Here's an idea. Keep your standard's Standard. Then this won't occur.

If you change standards during any given month, your AFI Calculated
Inventory, WIP, PPV, Accrual, and Scrap accounts may all be off
retroactively for that period (assuming constant standard for a period).

Also, keep in mind that when changing Raw Material Standards, these won't be
reflected through AFI transactions. But, at least Month End Inventory
Closing will capture the VARAINCE on the ME Valuation report (Closing vs.
Computer). 21/INR will also capture these variances by Item during the open
Inv Calendar Period (virtually same report generated by 2/INC).

Best of Luck, Jennifer.

We believe that changes in our standard costs is the biggest contributor to
our difference. How do we determine the value that was on the accruals
report at the time the standard was changed?

I'm having problems reconciling the G/L account balance for
Accrued Accounts Payable with the Accruals (Receipts not Invoiced) Report
from Purchasing Management. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, can
you give me any hints on where to look for problems?
