Arthur, The 384MB seems very low to me. I was responsible for JBA on model 6xx and 7xx including a 2179. We ran the max of 2GB and never experienced performance problems outside of a couple of poorly written applications. I actually disregarded the JBA recommendation and went to the max. Some of the problems today are due to the fact that data has grown over the past three years of use. We moved the 2180 from V4R1 to V4R4 and did not see any performance drop. We have also been experiencing greatly decreased performance. We have a 9406/620/2179 with 384 MB of memory (128MB more than JBA recommended). We have been told, recently, that we should have a minimum of 2GB to run efficiently. The degradation, since the upgrade, seems to be in batch jobs. Overall performance has never been terrific in any area. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience in performance issues from V4R2 to V4R4? ------------------------------------------- Arthur Weiner Manager, Information Systems S.
