You can control the batch queue by overriding it in the task definition
itself. We do this all the time to force particular jobs to particular
queues. If no queue is specified it will default to (I believe) the queue
associated with the user's job description, which would normally put it into
QBATCH. We have had no problems of any kind overriding the job queues this
way.

If you want more specifics on the screens to do this, just email me, but you
can get there from the STRM400, Application Manager, Tasks menus. Select the
task to change and then <F10> for additional options.

Best,

Bruce Stern

Subject: EXCAMTASK

I just came across the EXCAMTASK command while reading the Application
Manager Product guide (AM34P- Issue 1,
Chapter 8 page 57) . Note this publication was obtained back in December
1998 from JBA office in HongKong).
Has anybody used it ? For what purpose and how was it implemented ?
As we have created bespoke tasks (both interactive and batch) called by
bespoke menus , without resorting to this
facility , I am wondering what we may have lost by not using this command .
The user/task overrides have not been
a problem.
However, certain bespoke tasks are by default associated to QBatch .
example :

=============================================================
   F3=Exit   F4=Browse   F11=Delete   F12=Previous   F24=More Keys
============================================================

NOTE : APEXTCL is interactive ( there is a prompt for user input) and it
submits (SBMJOB) another program.

We know its the SBMJOB that is causing association with Qbatch , but how
can this be overcome ? Would the use
of EXCAMTASK coupled with another 'batch' task (to be defined as JBA task)
be the  answer ?

Any suggestion will be welcome .
Regards
