Rebuilding the balances requires exclusive use of the system.
Rebuilding a single suppliers balance should not take long and should be
finished before the AP personnel return from lunch, even on the most heavy
systems.

Michael,

Thanks for your reply, I'm pretty new at the JBA game.  I tried doing an F17
when I discovered the discrepancy - a balance is displayed in the header
(for the same amount as in PLP06) but in the detail section it says that
there are no log items for that supplier.  

What happens if I rebuild the log balances?  Does it go off and check the
detail?  If so is this a job I should put in the overnight or is it okay on
CPU?

If you do an Log Items Enquiry (F11) in the Supplier enquiry are any items
displayed?

To rebuild the log balances it is 17 / APU.

11 / APU is the rebuild of the 'other' balances.

I have a few tips to overcome problems with balances - let me know how you
go.

This might be a good place to start...
I'd whip out the documentation on this topic and read up on it...
You can run this option to "Verify" only and it will generate a report
without updating the balances...

Dear All,
I have a problem where PLP06 is showing an outstanding log balance against
a
supplier.  However when I query PLP15 using criteria LOGI15 EQ 'L' and
RSTS15 NE 'D' (which should show log items outstanding) there are no
records
for that supplier.
Has anyone had this problem before?  Do you know why it happens and how it
can be rectified without fiddling the data?
