Some very good points Denise.
At least with source, if you come up against a problem, you have a good
chance of coming up with a workaround, if not a fix.
Without it, it can sometimes be hard to even describe exactly what the
problem is to Support - they'd have to spend all day hogging your ECS line
looking into it instead...
...particularly if you have bespoked the thing.

I also wonder how many bugs get fixed internally, that JBA never hear about?
If they do persist in following this line, i can see timely support being a
very "hit-and-mis" affair.
