Steve, You are absolutely right... "...For what they are asking, they should not only supply source but a warm body to maintain it."... Problem is they don't have enough warm bodies left to support us... I'm waiting on a service estimate from them so we'll see what kind of fiction they write... And unfortunately we pre-paid 5 years of maintenance with 3 years left to go... That money is going to be pretty much wasted if we don't have source since we'll be stuck at V3.5.1 - and they'll even ask for extra fees to support us at V3.5.1 as of 12/31/2000... I have to laugh to keep from crying... Thanks. Jeff, Interesting isn't it. We have been in discussion on this issue with JBA/Geac for several months now. I have been very blunt with them as to how this affects our relationship. We recently completed a large Supply Chain initiative with Vendor Scheduling that would have been impossible without source. Being automotive, this could have placed our relationship with our customer and our supplier rating in serious jeopardy. Non-compliance would have meant that we would not qualify as a supplier to one of the big three. We are also in the process our "renewing" our maintenance agreement (if you haven't yet, just wait). For what they are asking, they should not only supply source but a warm body to maintain it. The whole situation has been very depressing. Hopefully, if we all raise enough opposition, things will change, but I'm not counting on it. Best of luck. +--- | This is the JBA Software Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message send your mail to JBAUSERS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to JBAUSERS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: doug333@aol.com. +---
