This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] You know, that's a good question. At first, it seemed obvious to me that they should have the authority, but now that I've had a chance to think about it, I seem to recall that I had to power down for a CE several years ago. It's just a real pain when the system in question is hundreds of miles away as it was yesterday (Sunday), and I have to drive in to sign on to the system, PWRDWNSYS, and sign off. Forty-five minutes wasted. Oh well, that's why I love this job, right? <g> Dan Bale IT - AS/400 Handleman Company 248-362-4400 Ext. 4952 D.Bale@Handleman.com > -----Original Message----- > From: neilp@dpslink.com [SMTP:neilp@dpslink.com] > Sent: Monday, October 15, 2001 2:36 PM > To: security400@midrange.com > Subject: [Security400] Re: QSRV able to PWRDWNSYS? > > You've never had a CSR/CE/whatever take down a system without asking ? > ;-) > I think it's a good idea they don't have authority to PWRDWNSYS. > > Object . . . . . . . : PWRDWNSYS Owner . . . . . . . : QSYS > Library . . . . . : QSYS Primary group . . . : > *NONE > Object type . . . . : *CMD > > Object secured by authorization list . . . . . . . . . . . . : > *NONE > > Object > User Group Authority > QSYS *ALL > QSYSOPR *USE > *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE > > > ...Neil >
