Given my limited knowledge of Angular, I could be wrong with this statement, but I don't see how a green screen program can be "converted" into an Angular web app without a lot of massaging and tweaking.

I presume the OP is hoping for some kind of AI or other magic he can run, doing the hard work, while providing a perceivably modern browser presentation. At least if it's the same Suren K. who hoped for similar magic in the past for writing applications without basic understanding of the underlying system.

IBM once provided the Workstation Gateway for doing this automatic. The result was text screens rendered in the browser in Courier and function keys, etc. were graphical buttons to be clicked on.

To provide a more modern UI, the paradigm of subfiles must be eliminated, so the scrolling is handled in the browser. Color and graphical UI elements should be added to provide the eye candy people perceive as modern. The usual 24x80 layout should be restructured to make better use of modern screen estate. Menus should be completely rethought. Etcetc.

Doing modernization *right* is IMHO utterly hard.
