My record is 25 minutes Alan. Ended up talking to a Senior Consultant after having gone through the original grunt and his supervisor. He finally called me a (really rude name) for wasting his time. So I pointed out that while I was wasting their time they weren't ripping off little old ladies! He used another expletive and hung up.

I felt good!

I got a call once at a later-than-reasonable hour. The caller (Indian accent) said "we have detected" an issue with your Microsoft computer and they needed to get access to it to fix it. At the time I didn't have a Microsoft computer at all. so I decided to have. a little bit of fun and started asking him for details. Two or three questions and he hung up.

Yep, received the same.

Checked the PDF for viruses - OK. The file contains an extensive
description of an RPG/400 programming problem. I suspect the individual
is trying to learn the hard way ... or wants someoen to do his/her
homework. Anyway, didn't reply - and deleted. (Didn't appreciate my
email address having been "farmed" from somewhere.)

I received an email this morning titled "RPG IV Question". Said they had a
question and wanted me to open the attached file (ostensibly a PDF).

Well, obviously a scam or, worse, an infection. I mean, why start at the
bottom of the RPG hierarchy with a question?

My educated guess is that they got my email address by perusing our list.
Just thought that, if true, you might be on your guard.
