And remember that could cause issues with the Classpath for any other Java
functions you want to run as once the JVM starts the classpath is set... at
least that's how I've seen it function in the past.

To my understanding many systools functions are java based - look at the
joblog after running one of these functions and see if a jvm is started.
The overhead is worst at the first call but java is in general slower
anyway.
