Some tools are better for a specific job than others. SQL is wonderful for many many things, but for some web services with complex responses I find it has a nasty tendency to result in write-only code that takes as long to decipher as it took to write.

I also personally find that having to learn a different approach when parsing JSON from that for XML is (at best) annoying.

But mostly I am becoming a little cranky these days with the all-too-frequent "The answer is SQL - now what was your question?"

Glad to see you say that Chris - there are days when I feel like I'm the only one who feels that way.

CLOB is a bad idea for zip files.
BLOB is better.

Also, you will want to look at what postman is doing for the http header.
You probably need to include some sort of authentication.

Personally, I'd use the HTTPAPI and just send the file that way. Not everything needs to be done with SQL.
