It helps in the case that the parameter definition is wrong --
e.g., using LIKE/LIKEDS without DIM keyword. In this situation the
overall length of the parameter will be wrong. But if you make Booth's
suggested change then it will "self-correct" the parameter length -- in
the above situation.
