Since every additional Window needs space for its border (even if it is invisible), I opt to live with the flicker.

Booth tested the code and the problem is not manifesting through his
testing. I also tested with a true 3477 and even there, a flicker is
showing out, but a lot less apparent than with Mocha on my Mac.
So, are you going to chalk it up to a MOCHA/MAC thing?
