Thomas

There has been a trade-up per seat that is about 30% less than list price. This is based on a number of seats of ADTS, which includes SEU and PDM. You can look at the tools in WRKLICINF, as I recall, and see a count of seats.

We have purchased only Authorized User licenses - these are the cost for the first year, then maintenance thereafter, which is something like 20% of list price. So if you do the tradeup (your business partner should know how to do it, or you can do it through Passport Advantage), you'll pay like $800 instead of $1100 the first year, then something like $220 each year thereafter = whatever, it's less than floating after a couple years, where pay the full floating license price each year.

I don't know if you can get the discount for trade-up when getting a floating license. And some of this is kind of unclear to me as to what these licenses really mean and how they are enforced. I've never been anywhere that uses the floating, it has been better by far for us to use the authorized user.

Cheers
Vern

How much does RDI cost? Is there discounts for volume purchases?

What about buying 10 licenses and during the day the onshore folks use the licenses and at night the off shore folks use them?

Is that legal or even doable? How not installed RDI in so many years --- well it has been allot of years.

They want free format but won't even have their top guy do a trial on RDi?    Just to see what it's all about?  (I am betting that if they do a fair, RDi will sell itself.)

Thomas - at the place that will not buy RDI or whatever it is called.
