Back in system 36/38 RPGIII days we used that crap code
to straighten out blank or short digit fields. I'm thinkin pre-1990?

Reviewing some RPGIV code and found a line:
C Z-ADD fielda fielda
Yes, factor 2, and the result columns are the same variable name. This
appears twice (for different fields) as part of a segment of code that
seems
to do much more work than it needs to accomplish a calculation. Anyway,
having a little trouble getting my head around what the results of this
would be. It is in a much larger loop that processes different records
each
iteration.
