To clarify - when I said "about $400 a year" I was talking about the amortized cost of purchasing a full seat license and paying maintenance. Since they seem to have upped the price a bit that may be more like $500 now but still cheap for what it does for me.

If you get the authorized user, it keeps on working, you just don't get support or maintenance. This license still lists for 940, not sure what support/maintenance is - hard to find online. So you can pay the maintenance annually or take your risks.
