Since these special character encodings only will be in few fields you can
use
%scan and %replace or SQL

I agree with this.

Mike, I think you should code your file fields as UCS-2, and also ask
for the XML parsing to be done in UCS-2 (XML-INTO option 'ccsid=ucs2').
