Barbara - I tried coding the file with CCSID 13488 and XML-INTO with "ccsid=ucs2", but that didn't work.

Henrik, et al - Does that mean I'm just out of luck, or is there another way to do this? I control the encoding of the XML coming in ....

I agree with this.

Mike, I think you should code your file fields as UCS-2, and also ask
for the XML parsing to be done in UCS-2 (XML-INTO option 'ccsid=ucs2').
