Stu,

Thanks for the response.

This is a conversion of their order entry program. I'm converting it from RPGII to RPGIV. The page number needs to show in the sfl header, and it gets written to the file. Unfortunately, it needs to work "like the old version" (anybody ever hear that phrase?).

If it was just a "where am I" issue, the scroll bar idea would be helpful. I may have to bite the bullet and handle the page processing myself, to achieve the desired goal.

Thanks.

If you're looking for some sort of "where am I in the subfile" indication
(and absolute page number is just an idea toward that end), I have heard
suggested hear in other posts that scroll bars help the user visualize sort
of where they are in the scrolling. If you can afford the horizontal space,
I found it useful once.

That's the answer I suspected (although not the one I was hoping for).

Thank you for responding. I appreciate the willingness of members of this
group to help out a fellow "codeslinger".

And I don't know if I've ever said it before, but thank you David, for all
you do.
