We're talking punched cards here, where cut & paste were physical actions.
You saw your program one line (spelled c-a-r-d) at a time. That's if you
had the luxury to have an interpreter on the card punch. Forget cut and
paste; there was no SEU. No backspace. No copy. No browse. No replace.

And we had to walk 20 miles to school! Up hill! Both ways!
