I can't say enough for using QM queries and forms for reports - no
programming involved, and as long as you query gets the records you
want, hey, you're on the gravy train. Summary lines too.

STRQM gives you a good beginning - and change from prompted (Query/400 -
like) to SQL to get all the power.

In my 23 years, I have never found OPNQRYF to be easy. Once I learned
SQL
and then embedded SQL, I never even considered using OPNQRYF again. To
me,
a SQL cursor and SELECT statement is much easier, especially when using
dynamic selection and/or sort criteria, than an OPNQRYF.
