COOL BEANS! I am happy to be corrected on this!Well, had I gone a little further, I could have reduced lines of code. You could use a single prototype with a *NOPASS on the third variable and reuse that prototype for both calls, and then you will have fewer lines of code.
The EXTPGM keyword indicates the external name of the program whose
prototype is being defined. The name can be a character constant or a
character variable. When EXTPGM is specified, then a dynamic call will
be
done.
For the record, the suggestion does not reduce the number of lines in the
source program. It just moves the extra lines into the D specs and out of
the C (or /free) specs. But otherwise I completely agree with Joe, and the
end product is MUCH more readable.
