The EXTPGM keyword indicates the external name of the program whose
prototype is being defined. The name can be a character constant or a
character variable. When EXTPGM is specified, then a dynamic call will
be
done.
For the record, the suggestion does not reduce the number of lines in the
source program. It just moves the extra lines into the D specs and out of
the C (or /free) specs. But otherwise I completely agree with Joe, and the
end product is MUCH more readable.
