I'm trying to compile with pdm option 14 which says CRTSQLRPG.
Compiler on the program object ( without my SQL ) is 5722WDS V5R4M0. I wouldn't know if CRTSQLRPG was using another compiler.

That message says you have invalid characters in positions 7 and 8.
Since the C must be in position 6 the compiler must be complaining about the /E or the + . Since those are valid characters in those positions for SQLRPG are you running the correct compiler?
