You can trim any combination of blanks or nulls if you use the second parameter of %trim.
If %trimr(dbfield) <> %trimr(parameter : ' ' + x'00');
If parameter = 'a.b.c.d ' or 'a.b.c.dnnnnn' or even a mixture of blanks an nulls like 'a.b.c.dn nn n ', the result of the second %trimr of parameter would be 'a.b.c.d'. (where n = null)
